Every year we make the effort to travel and discover new destination locations and venues so that we can properly assess the spaces, sample the food, understand local transport and accommodation options, and help our clients to pick the very best venues worldwide.
A few weeks ago we joined luxury photographer Katie Julia on a Greek trip which took us to the island of Mykonos, a long time favourite of ours.
We looked at four different spaces in particular, and can confirm all of them would be an incredible location to host a private celebration or wedding party. If you love natural, bohemian, rustic luxe, laid back chic... we have just the place for you!
Noema: https://noemamykonos.com/
This is a hidden gem in Mykonos Town, so super convenient to get to and slightly different in that it is not a beach club like most wedding venues here. The cocktails were absolutely incredible, and the menu sensational. It's a beautifully romantic lit courtyard and actually feels very spacious, with a long bar and plenty of seating room around the palm trees.
The do have a more intimate space indoors for smaller private dining too, which is away from the main courtyard but with similar interior styling.
"Our fluid space that can shape-shift as the mood strikes and the night unfolds. Evenings evolve organically, from energising elixirs and grazing dishes to live bands and intimate DJ sets. The open kitchen, outdoor bar, and saloon radiate from the courtyard, creating a seamless transition between loosely defined areas for eating, drinking and dancing. 2. Scorpios: https://www.scorpiosmykonos.com/
Everyone who is anyone knows scorpios is one of the best places to visit in Mykonos for amazing sunset views, a great beach club by day, delicious food in their restaurant and plenty of space to dance and party with the best DJs. We stayed at Soho Roc House a short walk away which guarantees you access, but I would still recommend booking your preferred areas in advance if you are visiting.
It is a large space that can have a seated meal for up to 300, so a great option for those with larger numbers.
"Perched on a ridge on the southern part of the island just a short drive from Mykonos Town, Scorpios sits on its own peninsula overlooking Paraga and Kavos lagoons. The property is nestled between two stunning beaches that offer rare uninterrupted views from Mykonos across the open Aegean Sea. But more, the tiered property is also hugged by the wild wonder of a protected nature reserve. Taken together its setting provides guests with the precious luxury of an eastern sunrise and the day’s closing sunset over southern cliffs."
3. Alemagou: https://alemagou.gr/
This is a quieter more laid back beach club, it feels like a very private bay and delivers all of the bohemian style without any of the party crowds. We met the owner during our visit and tried so much of their amazing simple menu and wine list too. It is unpretentious but still very cool. Would be a great space for a dinner party, but also a formal large wedding celebration with a laid back kick.
"Our team will tailor your RSVP event so that you say your 'I do's' at the most gorgeous set up, sharing the majestic Alemagou vibe with your loved tribes. Destination wedding parties and other personal celebrations, like surprise birthday dinners or baptism parties all are welcome, from formal to barefoot."
4. Kalua: https://kalua.gr/
From the front beach, this club seems much less secluded and private, but the restaurant and bar area is fabulous - a little more clean luxe, with feminine touches and more modern interiors for those that want a less boho vibe. It's also a short walk from Scorpios, so it would be possible to combine events between the two clubs.
Again, food here was wonderful - they also have a great sushi menu if for part of a multi day event you wanted a less traditional Greek menu on offer.
"Kalua caters to all your notable occasions; from birthday parties to bachelorette/bachelor do’s to corporate events, pre/post-wedding parties to your full wedding itself. No matter what you’re looking to celebrate, let us know what you’re after and we’ll plan the perfect occasion."
